Details:

Greenville Symphony Orchestra will present the third and final concert of the 75th anniversary season in the Artists Up Close series on Friday, May 5 at 7:30 pm, and Sunday, May 7 at 3:00 pm.  The performances will take place at Greenville’s Fine Arts Center.  Lisa Kiser, Greenville Symphony Principal Keyboard, and Anneka Zuehlke-King, Greenville Symphony Principal Horn, join the principal strings and woodwinds of the orchestra for the program.

The music for the program was selected as a narrative on the theme of courage.  It includes South Carolina composer Jon Jeffrey Grier’s 2009 work for a piano quintet which is entitled Overcoming, a rhapsody on “We Shall Overcome,” as well as Shostakovich, Messaien, Ravel, Joe Hisaishi, and Meira Warshauer.
