Audition Information

2026 GSO Auditions

Music Director Lee Mills and the Greenville Symphony Orchestra are pleased to announce the following auditions: 

Principal Oboe (Tenure Track)

  • Salaried position* – $26,768 – 150 services
  • Principal Oboe Audition Rep List
  • *Inclusive of mileage, per diem, and electronic media fee. Benefits include:
    • Medical, Dental, Vision, and Wellness program.
    • 401K with a 50% employer match, up to 6% of salary.
    • 4 PTO days per season with a maximum of 2 PTO days carried over year to year, subject to approval by the Music Director and Personnel Manager.


Principal Trumpet (Tenure Track)

  • Salaried position* – $20,165 – 113 services
  • Principal Trumpet Audition Rep List
  • *Inclusive of mileage, per diem, and electronic media fee. Benefits include:
    • Medical, Dental, Vision, and Wellness program.
    • 401K with a 50% employer match, up to 6% of salary.
    • 4 PTO days per season with a maximum of 2 PTO days carried over year to year, subject to approval by the Music Director and Personnel Manager.


Assistant and/or Associate Concertmaster (up to two [2] positions) (Tenure Track)

  • Per-service position(s) – estimated minimum services for 2026-2027 = 83
  • $147.50 per service ($142.50 fee + $5 Electronic Media Fee per service – mileage and per diem, paid when applicable)

Section Violin (multiple positions) (Tenure Track)

  • Per-service position(s) – estimated minimum services for 2026-2027 = 71
  • $104.75 per service ($99.75 fee + $5 Electronic Media Fee per service – mileage and per diem, paid when applicable)

Section Viola (multiple positions) (Tenure Track)

In addition to being considered for the positions above, each candidate may also be considered for the role of substitute musician.

Important Dates

Resumes Due by April 17

A one (1) page resume must be received in the GSO office via Email or Mail by Friday, April 17, 2026.

Auditions June 1 - 5

Audition Dates are June 1-5, 2026 (specific dates for each audition tbd)

  • If invited to audition with the GSO, you will receive an application and additional information via email.
  • If you have any questions regarding the repertoire lists, please contact the GSO librarian, Derek, at deilert@greenvillesymphony.org.
  • A PDF copy of the repertoire will be emailed to each candidate before the audition.
