Update: To make sure everyone stays safe, the GSO is currently focusing on online education programming. Be sure to visit the GSO Video library here to see what we’re working on. As soon as it’s safe to get everyone together for live concerts again, we’ll let you know!”

The GSO often brings world-class visiting performers to Greenville to collaborate with our musicians on our programs as guest soloists. Our Guest Artist Enrichment program sends these renowned artists into area schools to interact with students for workshops, recitals and masterclasses at Upstate colleges and universities, South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities, Fine Arts Center and other Greenville County schools.

Guest Artist Enrichment affords unforgettable experiences for young musicians, and unparalleled opportunities for students to learn a shared craft directly from their master musical counterparts. For example, a master class is designed as a hybrid performance/lesson open to young musicians’ peers and often, the public. Typically, a student will perform something he or she has been working on, and then work one-on-one with a guest artist in an open lesson for an unforgettable experience with the masters.

Though the Guest Artist Enrichment program typically offers experiences better suited for more advanced musicians, we customize opportunities based on what the community wants or needs; such as when first-graders at Stone Academy produced an opera and had the opportunity to meet and learn directly from acclaimed mezzo-soprano and opera star, Stacey Rishoi.
