Once Upon An Orchestra
THE TRUE STORY OF THE 3 LITTLE PIGS!
Tuesday, April 23, 2019
South Carolina Children’s Theatre
1200 Pendleton Street
Greenville, SC 29611
You thought you knew the story of “The Three Little Pigs”…you thought wrong.
This is the story of The Three Little Pigs from the perspective of Alexander T. Wolf (a.k.a. “The Big, Bad Wolf”) and Mr. Wolf sets the story straight as to how he came to be “big and bad.” You’ll “howl” with laughter in this hysterical and clever fractured fairy tale that twists the point-of-view and perspective, as the audience hears the other side of the story of The Three Little Pigs, told by SCCT Principal Teaching Artist, Traysie Amick, and her friends from the GSO.
ABOUT THE “ONCE UPON AN ORCHESTRA” SERIES
What do you get when you combine Greenville Symphony Orchestra’s music education program with South Carolina Children’s Theatre’s “Tell Me A Story” Theatre? You get, “Once Upon An Orchestra!” This performance series connects the children in your life to stories, music, and movement. Not only will young people be exposed to inspiring classical music, they will experience the connection stories make to these musical masterpieces! Best of all, we take turns! First, we perform for you, and then young people are invited to engage in a dramatic interpretation of moments or ideas in both the music and the story. Come imagine with us!
Performances are FREE and start at 11:00 a.m. Programs are appropriate for children 2 to 5 years old (slightly younger than Lollipops).
For more information or to sign up to receive email reminders about concerts for children, contact Dr. Braxton Ballew, GSO Education Director at (864) 232-0344 extension 19 or via email at email@example.com.
