Michelin Children’s Concert
Friday, November 4, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon
Peace Concert Hall
Edvard Tchivzhel, conductor
Presented by Michelin North America, the Michelin Children’s Concert is our biggest educational outreach program each year, and provides the authentic cultural experience of attending a Masterworks Series concert in the grand Peace Concert Hall to 3,000-4,000 Greenville County elementary and home-schooled students free-of-charge.
Designed with fourth and fifth grade students in mind, The Michelin Children’s Concert includes two 45 minute full orchestra performances conducted by Maestro Edvard Tchivzhel, with a special classical repertoire coordinated with our upcoming Masterworks Series concert, “Genius Against Tyrant.” For many students, this exceptional school field trip is their first opportunity to attend the Peace Center for the Performing Arts — the Upstate’s premiere, six-acre performing arts center in downtown Greenville. While there is no charge to participants, schools that are not Title I must negotiate their own transportation. All Title I schools are paid for in full. In 2015, we served 19 public schools — 11 of which were Title I.
