Lollipops: The Music Teacher from the Black Lagoon
Featuring the GSO String Quintet
ADMISSION IS FREE!
It’s time for music class with Rhoda LaNote, the Music Teacher from the Black Lagoon! Soon you’ll find out if you belong with the Sopra-Noses (who sing with their noses) or with the All-Toes (who use their toes to make music). And is it really true that you have to memorize a million songs? Well, it’s time to face the music.
The outrageously funny and popular “Black Lagoon” book series comes to life as Hubie once again faces his comically horrific fears during his first day of music class. Featuring a Valkyrie/Viking teacher who comes armed with a pitchfork, a laser baton, and a prison called Sing-Sing, this story is sure to amuse and quell fears of new experiences at the same time.
Lollipops concerts introduce children to classical music and the instruments of the orchestra through interactive concerts presented by members of the Greenville Symphony Orchestra. During each concert, chamber ensembles accompany a storybook reading. And of course, audience members receive a lollipop at the end of each performance!
Lollipops concerts are appropriate for children ages 2 to 7, although all children and adults are welcome. Programs last approximately 30 minutes. Reservations are not required and admission is free.
Lollipops is sponsored by BMW Manufacturing Co.
